A Dangerous Pleasure
Native to Mexico and introduced worldwide in the 16th century, Tuberose has been a beloved ingredient in perfumery since the Victorian era. This captivating cut flower was introduced to the Subcontinent via European settlers and thrives in the warm regions of Punjab and Sindh in Pakistan, where it is sustainably sourced for Absolute production.
Genus: Polianthes
Species Name: Polianthes Tuberosa
Thriving in the Sun
A bulbous plant, Tuberose grows with pale-green, narrow leaves and adventitious roots. At the stem’s tip, a cluster of waxy white flowers, often tinged with a faint pink, exude an intoxicating fragrance. The plant flourishes in warm climates with temperatures ranging between 18–36°C, thriving best in well-drained, organic-rich soils.
Harvested by Hand
Tuberose is propagated through bulbs, with planting typically occurring from March to May. The first blooms appear 85–100 days after planting in June or July. Flowers are hand-harvested for Absolute extraction, while stems are sold in local markets. The flowers are carefully collected in cloth bags to preserve their fragrance and integrity.
The Enchanting Fragrance
Our Tuberose Absolute offers a lush, creamy sweetness, enriched with hints of spice and honey-like warmth. The rich, buttery aroma is softened by balsamic undertones, leaving a long-lasting, soft floral drydown. It blends beautifully with Magnolia, Orange Blossom, Frangipani, and Champaca, creating a heady, sensual fragrance perfect for luxurious perfumes.
Scent notes: Lush, creamy sweetness with hints of spice, honey, and balsamic undertones
Pairings: Magnolia, Orange Blossom, Frangipani, Champaca
