The Queen Of the Night
Jasmine is revered for its exquisite fragrance and is often referred to as the “Queen of the Night” because the flowers emit their strongest fragrance at night. Native to the Subcontinent and South East Asia, Jasmine or Yasmine in Arabic meaning a “Gift from God” is an essential flower in perfumery, known for its complex, rich, and captivating aroma.
Genus: Jasminum
Common Names: Jasmine Sambac, Arabian Jasmine, Motiya
Jasmine In The Fields
Jasmine Sambac grows to a height of 0.5–3 meters, with smooth, shiny dark green leaves. Its small white flowers grow in clusters of 3–12 blooms, releasing their sweet fragrance in the evening. Jasmine thrives in warm climates with mild winters and is sensitive to frost.
From Farm to Bloom
Jasmine Sambac is propagated through cuttings and developed in nurseries before being transplanted to the fields. The ideal time for planting is in the spring, as Jasmine loves warmer temperatures. Harvesting is done early in the morning when the flower buds are fully developed but still closed, ensuring fragrance and freshness. The flowers are spread out to bloom at our facility and processed in the late evening when the fragrance is strongest.
An Exotic Aroma
Our Jasmine Sambac Absolute reflects the heady aroma of the flowers as they are spread out to bloom at our facility every evening. The Absolute has an exotic floral and fruity quality. Although animalic, lower levels of Indole in our flowers contribute to a softer, slightly musky and intoxicating scent that evokes sensuality and complexity. Jasmine Sambac is incredibly versatile, blending well with many ingredients in both feminine and masculine perfumes.
Scent notes: Floral-fruity with musky and animalic undertones
Pairings: Florals, Woods, Musks
